Use Canadian guidance
Health Canada identifies paints, glues, varnishes and some composite wood products as sources of indoor VOCs. It recommends choosing lower-emission products when possible and increasing ventilation when using paints and adhesives. Environment and Climate Change Canada provides information on VOC concentration limits for architectural coatings.
Build a product-specific request
Ask the supplier for the technical data sheet, safety data sheet, stated VOC content, available emissions reports and application instructions. Check that any report identifies the model, formulation and use you are considering.
Keep the comparison practical
Record the measurement method, units and intended application beside each result. Do not treat differently measured figures as directly interchangeable. Include required ventilation and curing instructions in the project discussion.
