Compare toilets by litres per flush and showerheads and faucets by litres per minute. Ask for the exact model, test conditions and supporting performance documents. For dual-flush toilets, record both flush volumes. Consider installation compatibility and performance alongside the water-use figures.
Verify certification with CSA Group
CSA Group provides testing and certification services for plumbing products. Use its official Product Listing to check a supplier’s certification claim against the manufacturer, model and standards shown in the certification record. Check the scope of the record; a general CSA certification claim alone should not be treated as proof of a specific water-saving rating. Ask for the relevant efficiency test results or certification details.
Prepare a product comparison
Place each model’s water-use figures, test conditions, installation requirements and warranty side by side. Ask the supplier for current technical documents and have the responsible project professional confirm suitability and applicable local requirements. A lower flow figure alone does not establish that a fixture is appropriate for the installation.
